Beyond Stage Combat: Being a Professional Stunt Person

General, open to all. Devin Sanchez has worked as a professional stunt performer and actor in film and television for roughly 15 years. Devin will cover the basics of what it means to be a stunt double, how to get into the world of stunts, and all the nuts and bolts of being on set. From call sheets to reading sides to staying safe, Devin will give a comprehensive introduction to the fascinating world of stunts and working on professional film sets.

From College in WY to Working in Film and TV

General, open to all. Devin Sanchez has worked as a professional stunt performer and actor in film and television for roughly 15 years, which is a world away from her roots, in Casper, Wyoming. In the middle of a state with hardly any professional theatre at all, Devin started her journey at a two-year community college, then went on to earn a BFA at the University of Wyoming. Today she finds herself regularly on sets such as “Stranger Things,” amassing a pile of work, making industry connections, and having had the experience of acting opposite Ryan Reynolds. It didn’t happen overnight. Back in the community college in Wyoming, the entertainment industry felt so far away. Devin will give an overview of her relatable journey, connecting with students from all walks of life, and talk about how we get from A to Z in this unique industry of showbusiness.
