General, open to all. A comprehensive look at adaptation across genres using different forms of primary texts to study how to create successful adaptations. This course will combine reading and watching of existing adaptations, and writing assignments where students are able to practice and develop their own adaptations. This class will ask you to look at source material in a new way, sometimes challenging the faults of the material from its time and place in History, and finding ways to explore new relationships to the story through adaptation. There will be a writing exercise at the end of class, please bring a laptop or writing instruments.
