About me
Kari is an award-winning director, actor, playwright, educator, lecturer, and Artistic Director of the international touring MB ADAPTORS, which she founded in NYC in 1984. She has conceived and directed 18 critically acclaimed original productions that have toured nationally and across Europe, Asia, South America, and Canada. Her original work also includes large-scale, site-specific events at locations such as the Brooklyn Museum and the beach at Coney Island, New York. Margolis Method’s dynamic approach to acting and creation is central to several university theatre programs and theatre companies worldwide. Kari’s work has been honored with Six National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, a “Bessie” NY Performance Award, a NY Foundation for the Arts Fellowship, and a TCG/Pew National Artist Fellowship, among numerous other prestigious national awards and fellowships. For 15 years, Kari has been a lead teacher at the national KCACTF, working with National Irene Ryan Candidates, and she runs the Margolis Method Center in NY and Barcelona.Kari is a proud Gold Medallion recipient from Region I and has had many original productions created for universities that were invited to regional festivals and the Kennedy Center National Festival.
