About me
J. Kathleen Castellanos (she/they) Kathleen is an active music director, vocal coach, and educator working throughout Boston and the greater New England area; her career has taken her throughout North America, as well as Germany and Austria. Kathleen is a proud member of the performing arts faculty at UMass Boston, where she teaches Musical Theatre History and Performance as well as piano and voice studio teaching; she can also be found teaching and collaborating at Emerson College, Endicott College, and the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Additionally, Kathleen serves on the faculty at the North End Performing Arts Center, where she has a thriving private studio and oversees the Adult Piano Program. She is a proud member of MAESTRA, an organization for female-identifying and non-binary music directors and musicians, where she serves on the education committee; she also serves as the co-chair of the New England MAESTRA regional chapter. Kathleen is an adjudicator for METG (Massachusetts Educational Theatre Guild). Recent credits: Little Shop Of Horrors, Spelling Bee, Wonderettes (New London Barn Playhouse), Alice By Heart (Weston Drama Workshop), Wedding Singer, State Fair (Clinton Area Showboat Theatre), Assassins, Music Man (Seacoast Repertory Theatre).
