About me
My background in technical theatre, design, and academic reaches back over 20 years. Frequently, I have worked with regional equity theatres, and opera companies in the Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, and West Coast, where our remote location for production required a direct need to economize and repurpose not only our stock, but build from un-conventional materials as well. I am currently an Assistant Professor of Design at St. Lawrence University, a small liberal arts program in Upstate NY. My university has a mission focus of working towards more sustainable practices regularly. I have been working to implement this practice of using what is in our immediate surroundings for raw materials throughout the production process: this includes creating texture, set structures, materials, puppets, masks, props with repurposed materials ranging from packaging, cardboard, fabric scrap, etc.
